Find Me Gluten Free App Connects Users with Gluten-Free

Friendly Restaurants and Businesses Nationwide

Free app offers solution to finding gluten-free friendly businesses and

shared dining experiences in the palm of an user’s hand

Find Me Gluten Free, the most downloaded gluten-free restaurant and business finder app for iPhone and Android, today announced the launch of their newly designed apps and website, http://www.findmeglutenfree.com. Both were created to provide a solution to those with Celiac Disease or a gluten-intolerance, as well as for friends, family or anyone consistently influenced by a gluten-free eater. The app offers the ease of finding gluten-free friendly restaurants, products and businesses, while connecting all users with safe dining options throughout the United States and Canada.

Unlike other restaurant review sites, all ratings and reviews through Find Me Gluten Free are based on how gluten-free friendly the businesses are, making it easier to find a restaurant which users can be confident will take preparing a gluten-free meal seriously, along with serving as a brand-finder at stores nationwide. Find Me Gluten Free provides a solution not only for the gluten-free community, but the friends, family, co-workers, etc. who dine with gluten-free consumers.

“As a software developer who is also a Celiac, I felt compelled to provide a solution that would help other gluten-intolerant eaters navigate their way to healthy foods, while offering a fun and critical tool that is easy to use and share with the entire gluten-free community and beyond,” says Jason Elmore, CEO and Founder of Find Me Gluten Free. Elmore also noted, “when choose a place to eat with friends or co-workers, I usually have the final say on where to dine, given my gluten intolerance, though it’s always nice to have everyone looking for restaurants on the app to find a location that appeals to all parties.”

The Find Me Gluten Free app and website provides gluten-free eaters and consumers the ability to “Suggest a Business” via their own user profile, then submit and rate (with 1 to five stars) their individual boomed experience or product(s) purchased. Users can locate gluten-liberated friendly businesses (within their specified radius) by searching “Near Me, or Near Addresses” which will pull up reviewed businesses with other user ratings, reviews, tips and comments, directing the user to a safe dining experience. The app also delivers a thorough list of “Chain Menus” – everything from Applebee’s to P.F. Chang’s to Qdoba – linked directly to the establishment’s website and/or specified gluten-free menu.

Those with Celiac Disease or a gluten-intolerance cannot digest gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye and barley. Three million Americans have Celiac Disease, and the Center for Celiac Disease in Maryland reported one out of seven people will have a gluten intolerance in their lifetime. The gluten-free food market has exploded as more and more people are diagnosed with gluten allergies and Celiac Disease.

“The Find Me Gluten Free app is the industry leader and great example of the apps out there that are contributing to the growth of the gluten-free food sector and, importantly, the empowerment of the individual who suffers with the sensitivity/intolerance,” said David Browne, Senior Analyst Mintel Int’l Group.

With the flourishing gluten-free food market and need for ever-increasing awareness through a variety of mediums, Find Me Gluten Free has quickly been recognized throughout the gluten-free industry as a prominent partner, through their efforts to raise awareness of Celiac Disease and gluten-intolerance, and are available for further exploration of B2C and B2B partnership opportunities throughout the gluten-free/ restaurant industries. From mobile loyalty programs to promotional codes, Find Me Gluten Free delivers a great solution to reaching a large group of gluten-free consumers.

No starvation diet here: Yeast cells eat and eat—and live longer (Frank Rosenzweig at CASW 2009)

Much of what we know about aging was found first in yeast—and then later throughout the animal kingdom. Now a new discovery in yeast is challenging recent findings on lifespan and calorie restriction. Franz Rosenzweig has found that if he immobilizes yeast cells in a matrix and feeds them all the food and vitamins they want, they will rev up to produce large quantities of ethanol, but they wont divide—and they dont seem to age. He and his colleagues are now racing to find which genes are responsible for this amazing and unexpected longevity—and whether those genes might hold any clues to increasing the lifespans of aging science writers (among others). Frank Rosenzweig, Ph.D. – Associate Professor of Biology – University of Montana In addition to his work on aging, Rosenzweig is studying pathogens commonly found in the lungs of people with cystic fibrosis. He also studies directed evolution in yeast, looking particularly at genetic changes related to adaptation and selection. dbs.umt.edu casw.org
